 PEOPLES NAMED EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF MADISON GAS AND ELECTRIC
 MADISON, Wis., July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- D. Louis Peoples, 51, has been named executive vice president of Madison Gas and Electric Co. (OTC: MDSN), according to Frank C. Vondrasek, chairman of MGE. Most recently, Peoples had been a senior officer with a major consulting firm in the San Francisco area.
 Peoples will have senior management responsibility at MGE for electric and gas operations as well as materials and fuels.
 He is a registered professional nuclear engineer and a certified public accountant. He earned a BS degree with honors in mechanical engineering from Stanford University and an MBA with honors from the Harvard Business School.
 Peoples was previously employed by Commonwealth Edison as assistant nuclear division manager, assistant treasurer and director of nuclear licensing. He has also served as corporate controller of McGraw-Edison and as vice president of Bechtel Power Corporation and Bechtel Consulting Services.
 MGE is a public utility that generates, transmits and distributes electricity to 114,000 customers throughout 250 square miles in Dane County. The company also transports and distributes natural gas to 90,000 customers throughout 962 square miles in Dane, Columbia and Iowa counties.
