John Grifonetti was named President and Chief Operating Officer of Datek Online Holdings Corp. Grifonetti succeeds Edward Nicoll, who recently was named Chairman and CEO. Grifonetti joined the company as CFO in December 1997. Prior to that he was a manager for Deloitte & Touche LLP. Datek Online Holdings operates Datek Online Brokerage Services, Datek Online Software Services, and Datek Online Clearing Corp.

Janus Technologies of Pittsburgh, Pa., named Nick Manolis Chief Operating Officer. Manolis formerly served as CFO of Janus, a provider of IT asset management solutions.

Network Equipment Technologies (N.E.T.) of Fremont, Calif., appointed Andy Sceats Vice President of Sales, EMEA. Sceats comes to N.E.T. from Newbridge Networks, where he was VP of Europe, Middle East and Africa. N.E.T. is a leading worldwide supplier of multiservice wide area networks.

Taqua Systems Inc., a Centerville, Mass., provider of next-generation switching platforms, promoted Bill Pennington, Taqua's former vice president of Engineering, to Chief Technical Officer, and appointed Theresa Pratt Vice President of Engineering. Prior to joining Taqua, Pennington was vice president of Corporate Technology planning at Alcatel/DSC Communications. Pratt comes from Motorola, where she was a general manager.

Dulles, Va.-based Dunn Computer Corp. promoted Ed Spear, a 5-year veteran, to President and Chief Operating Officer of Dunn's new Network Integration Division. Previously Spear was Dunn's vice president of Customer and Technical Services. Dunn provides network design, implementation, integration and support services.

Emeryville, Calif.-based HomeGain.com, a home seller Web site created to match consumers with real estate agents, named John Baker Chief Operating Officer. Most recently, Baker served as senior vice president and general manager of Business Payroll Services at Wells Fargo & Co.

Ten North Inc. of San Francisco, Calif., appointed Scott Wilson Vice President of Client Services. Prior to joining Ten North, Wilson was responsible for customer satisfaction for AOL. Ten North's Partner Relationship Management (PRM) solution is designed to help companies build relationships with their third-party sales channels.

Carpinteria, Calif.-based ValueClick appointed Robert Sherry Senior Vice President of Sales. Before joining ValueClick, Sherry was vice president of Sales and Marketing at Miller Publishing Group. ValueClick is a global Internet advertising network providing performance-based banner solutions to advertisers and Web publishers.

New York-based e-business solutions provider Transaction information Systems Inc. named David Haney Senior Creative Director of its Interactive Studios unit. Haney will be responsible for user interface design, site navigation, creative content and online branding and marketing. Haney is known for branding the National Hockey League (NHL) as the "Coolest game on earth." Prior to that, Haney was an associate creative director at advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi.
