RE/NET Properties specializes in residential, commercial and industrial real estate in the Camarillo area of Ventura County, the San Fernando Valley and West Los Angeles.

RE/NET Financial specializes in residential new home, resale and refinance type loans.

They have offices in Camarillo and Woodland Hills.

SMITH, FINNEY GET DISNEY POSTS: Jan Smith, former vice president and group publisher of Disney Publishing for Children, has been named senior vice president of Disney Interactive.

In her new capacity, Smith will be responsible for worldwide operations.

Steve Finney, previously vice president of Walt Disney Records, was named vice president and CFO of Disney Interactive.

Finney will be responsible for finance, operations and strategic planning, accounting and administration.

BEEMSTERBOER GETS NATIONAL FELLOWSHIP: Phyllis Beemsterboer, assistant dean of administrative affairs at the UCLA School of Dentistry, has been accepted as a fellow in the 1997/98 Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program for Women.

The program's goal is to increase the number of women in health science leadership roles.

RENE JOINS POLICE BOARD: James M. Rene, an attorney for the firm of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, recently joined the board of directors of the newly established Crisis Response Team at the Los Angeles Police Department's West Valley Division.

Rene will act as an adviser and will participate in securing grants and donations necessary to cover basic expenses of the CRT.

FRARY APPOINTED V.P.: Robert A. Frary has been appointed vice president of marketing for the work-site products division of United Insurance Company of America.

Prior to joining the Woodland Hills company in 1996, Frary held a marketing and sales position with a number of leading insurers.

Frary will be responsible for product development, marketing communications, contracts and licensing, compliance and the development of strategic marketing alliances.

FOUR JOIN HOSPITAL BOARD: Four new civic leaders have joined Panorama City's Mission Community Hospital board of directors.

Joining the board of the not-for-profit hospital are Vera O. Castro, William A. Grimm, Louise A. Marquez and John H. Silver.

Castro, of Granada Hills, is a case manager for the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. Grimm, of Burbank, is vice president of franchise development for California Pizza Kitchen Inc.

Marquez, of Panorama City, is a manager and marketing director of the Panorama Mall. Silver, a resident of Santa Clarita, works as an employment industry consultant and director of student services and employer relations for Glendale Career College.

Their participation is designed to strengthen the hospital's links with business, community and health care interests in the Valley.

THOMKA ADDED TO OXFORD BOARD: Albert E. Thomka, senior vice president/MIS director of Woodland Hills-based Oxford Oil and Gas Inc., was recently appointed and elected to the board of directors.

Oxford Oil and Gas is a subsidiary of the Oxford Group of Companies, LTD, and is a major producer of domestic oil.

Thomka has been with the company since 1993.

BOYER APPOINTED VP AT SOFTWARE DYNAMIC: Frederic T. Boyer has been appointed to the management team of Software Dynamic Inc. as vice president of finance and administration and CFO.

Software Dynamics Inc provides systems and services for financial institutions.

Boyer served most recently as vice president, CFO and plant manager with ADC Enterprize Networking Group, a manufacturer and distributor of networking products.

HALACY, ESKENAZI GET UNIVERSAL POSTS: Mark Halacy has been appointed vice president, human resources development for Universal Studios.

Halacy joins Universal from Blockbuster Entertainment Group, where he has held a variety of executive positions since 1989.

Also, Jeremy Eskenazi has been named director of work-force planning and strategic staffing.

Eskenazi joined Universal Studios Recreation Group in 1994 as director, professional staffing.

LEVIN NAMED VP AT MCA: Nancy Levin has been named senior vice president of MCA Records, a subsidiary of Universal Studios.

In her new position, Levin will oversee MCA's promotion department.

Previously, Levin served as senior vice president of promotion at Priority Records.

TEHRANIAN NAMED MGM VP: Yalda Tehranian has been appointed vice president of production at MGM Pictures, a unit of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc.

In her new capacity, Tehranian will be responsible for developing properties for feature-film consideration, working with writers, directors and producers in preparing properties for production.

Tehranian comes from a vice president of production position at Live Entertainment, where she oversaw the development and production of several theatrical films.

ZLOTOWICZ NAMED HEALTHNET VP: Jan Zlotowicz has been named vice president of Human Resources for Health Net, a Woodland-Hills based health care company.

Zlotowicz will be responsible for strategies and daily operations of the human resources department.

She has served as director of human resources for Health Net since 1995.

DUSWALT, THOMAS GET MUSTANG POSTS: Craig Duswalt has been promoted to senior copywriter/associate creative director at Mustang Marketing, an Agoura Hills-based marketing and advertising agency.

Duswalt's areas of responsibility are conceptualizing and writing copy for major accounts, as well as overseeing and editing all copy.

In addition, Randy Thomas has been hired as designer/associate creative director.

Thomas will be responsible for designing and overseeing all graphic elements from conception through pre-press on several accounts.
