BISHOP NAMED DIRECTOR OF SALES AT HYATT

Hyatt West Hollywood The Hyatt West Hollywood is a 262-room hotel located at 8401 Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood, California (at Kings Road).

It opened in 1958 as the Gene Autry Hotel. Sold in 1966, it was renamed the Continental Hyatt House.

Andrew Jamie "Andy" Bishop (born October 19 1982 in Stone, England) is an English footballer, currently playing for Bury in League Two, playing the position of striker.
, a five-year Hyatt sales veteran, to director of sales at the 262-room hotel.

As director of sales, Bishop will oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel's sales force, including the advertising and marketing budget.

Bishop will also work with general manager Michael Koffler Michael C. Koffler (b. November 16 1955, Brooklyn, New York), was raised in Flushing, Queens, New York, and presently resides in Manhattan, New York. GAROFOLO NAMED UNIVERSAL MARKETING V.P.

Elayne Garofolo was recently appointed executive vice president of marketing for the Universal Studios Recreation Group.

In her position, Garofolo will oversee all marketing strategies, consumer positioning and brand development for Universal Studios' recreation properties that include Universal Studios Florida and Universal City's Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal City Walk.

PINKERTON PROMOTES CERAR TO DIVISION CHIEF

Pinkerton Inc. has promoted Laura J. Cerar to president of its U.S. Security Services division.

Cerar will be based at Pinkerton headquarters in Encino. Previously, as vice president of field operations for the mid-Atlantic region, she was based in Pittsburgh.

Cerar will be the highest-ranking female executive at Pinkerton.

Moty Ginsburg was recently promoted to executive vice president at Chatsworth-based JMR Electronics Inc., a manufacturer of electronic enclosures for computer peripherals.

After achieving a degree in industrial engineering, Ginsburg began his employment with JMR more than seven years ago. During his tenure with JMR, Ginsburg has moved steadily upward, with his most recent position as general manager of JMR Plastic Technology.

LAWRIE RECEIVES TRUSTEES' AWARD

Northridge resident David G. Lawrie recently received the Trustees' Achievement Award from the Aerospace Corp., a nonprofit organization Nonprofit Organization

RICE PROMOTED TO KAMBER GROUP V.P.

Robert H. Rice Jr., director of public affairs for The Kamber Group, was recently promoted to vice president of the public relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. STONES SIGNS 5-YEAR DEAL WITH DISNEY

Tad Stones signed a new five-year contract as an executive producer for Walt Disney Television Animation Walt Disney Television Animation is the animated television production division of The Walt Disney Company. It was formed in 1984. Tom Ruzicka, now at Universal Animation Studios, was one of the original executives in charge of this fledgeling group. .

As a creator and producer of several Disney hit series, Stones' most recent feature-length production, ``Disney's Aladdin and the King of Thieves,'' was honored at the 25th annual Annie Awards for outstanding achievement in an animated home video production.

Starting off at Disney's feature animation training program, Stones has served in many divisions of the Burbank-based Walt Disney Co., including Imagineering and as one of the pioneers of Television Animation.

CLARK APPOINTED SENIOR V.P.

Dave Clark has been appointed senior vice president of finance for the Universal Studios Operations Group. He will be responsible for all financial activity within the division.

Clark has been with Universal City-based Universal for 19 years, most recently as senior vice president and controller of the Universal Music Group.

VARMA NAMED CFO See Chief Financial Officer.  AT CIGNA CIGNA CG (Connecticut General Life Insurance Company) INA (Insurance Company of North America)  

Rakesh Varma has been named chief financial officer for Cigna Healthcare of California.

In this role, he will oversee the financial management of the 700,000-member health plan, as well as develop strategy on product development and new business ventures.

Varma comes to the Glendale-based subsidiary of Cigna HealthCare from CareAmerica Health Plans, where he was vice president of finance.

ROSS PROMOTED AT 20TH CENTURY FOX

Steven M. Ross was recently promoted to executive vice president of worldwide promotions and product placement for Twentieth Century Fox's licensing and merchandising division.

Ross will oversee motion picture product placement on behalf of all Fox divisions, plus worldwide cross-promotions and general corporate partnership marketing efforts for all commercial feature and television output product.

Ross is credited with spearheading the worldwide promotional campaign behind ``Anastasia,'' amassing deals with Burger King, Hershey's, Dole and Blockbuster Video among others.
