PENTAX to Market Autofluorescence Endoscopy System Overseas.


Tokyo, Japan, Nov 2, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - PENTAX began marketing its proprietary autofluorescence videoendoscopy system in overseas markets on November 1. The system consists of the PENTAX SAFE-3000, a light source-integrated processor unit, and the PENTAX EB-1970AK, an electronic endoscope endoscope, any instrument used to look inside the body. Usually consisting of a fiber-optic tube attached to a viewing device, endoscopes are used to explore and biopsy such areas as the colon and the bronchi of the lungs. , and can render higher quality images of lesions.

The system can display images on a PC via a digital video output pin and also record the images on a USB memory See USB drive.  device.

The system helps diagnose cancer and minute lesions at an early stage. PENTAX aims to sell 200 systems in the first year.
