PENRIL DATABILITY NETWORKS ADDS DIAL MODEM CAPABILITY TO ITS T1 HIGH-SPEED ACCESS PRODUCTS

GAITHERSBURG, Md., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Penril Datability Networks, a division of Penril DataComm Networks Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: PNRL), today announced a new product which allows users to take advantage of the dramatic reduction of T1 and Fractional T1 access line costs.
The new system integrates high-speed modems into the company's DVX 7154 Fractional T1 product line. Each channel card contains two modems, supporting V.32 bis up to 14.4 kbps, fax and the new V.terbo standard which operates up to 19.2 kbps. The system can be arranged with up to 24 modem data channels or a mixture of voice, fax and data channels. This configuration is significantly more cost effective than using individual telephone lines, and users will enjoy fast pay-back through reduced toll charges.
Redundant logic and power supplies provide high reliability, and the system is fully supported by Penril's Series 6000 graphics-oriented network management system.
Typical applications include credit card verification systems, real estate multiple listing services and other remote multi-user data services.
