PENNSYLVANIA TO HOST BOOTH AT COMPUTER TRADE FAIR IN HUNGARY

HARRISBURG, Pa., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Department of Commerce will sponsor a computer and telecommunications booth at a major October trade fair in Hungary, Commerce Secretary Andrew T. Greenberg announced today.
The department is inviting interested Pennsylvania companies to participate in the sixth annual CompFair, which will be held Oct. 12-16 in Budapest.
"Pennsylvania continues to be aggressive in its efforts to help state businesses compete in global markets," Greenberg said. "Participation in CompFair will help computer and telecommunications firms gain access to growing markets in Hungary and other eastern European countries."
Product lines to be displayed at CompFair include computer equipment, basic and application softwares, telecommunications equipment, office technology, computer office furniture and entertainment electronics.
The registration deadline is Aug. 31.
Companies that plan to register or want more information about CompFair should call the Office of International Trade in the Department of Commerce at 717-787-7190.
Participation in key international trade shows is part of an overall competitiveness strategy to assist state businesses. This strategy includes the new Pennsylvania Export Partnership (PEP), which Gov. Robert P. Casey created to help small- and medium-sized firms gain access to and compete in international markets. One of the services PEP offers is a grant program that helps smaller companies defray the cost of attending trade shows such as CompFair.
