 WILKES-BARRE, Pa., July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania Enterprises,


Inc. (PEI) (NASDAQ: PENT) announced today that the Federal Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania had approved a settlement agreement providing for the dismissal of all lawsuits relating to the process by which PEI had solicited offers for its sale at certain times between 1988 and 1991.
 Plaintiffs in these lawsuits also agreed to relinquish any claims relating to this sale process and PEI's recent common stock offering.
 PEI, through Pennsylvania Gas and Water Company, provides natural gas service to approximately 132,400 customers and water service to approximately 130,100 in an 11-county area in northeastern Pennsylvania.
