Leister Technologies Leister Process Technologies is a company based in Sarnen, Switzerland. The company was founded in 1949 by German Karl Leister. LLC - Logical Link Control in Schaumburg, Ill., has adapted its Novolas diode laser-welding equipment to weld PEEK resins supplied by Victrex USA Inc. Previously, it was not feasible to laser weld PEEK due to the resin's semi-crystalline nature and high melting point melting point, temperature at which a substance changes its state from solid to liquid. Under standard atmospheric pressure different pure crystalline solids will each melt at a different specific temperature; thus melting point is a characteristic of a substance and , both of which retard the ability of PEEK to absorb laser energy.
