SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. A 25-year resident, Pecsi was elected to the board in 1998. He sits on the water resources committee and the governmental relations and outreach committees. Pecsi is employed as the general manager for the Foothill Municipal Water District and is a registered civil engineer.

Key issues facing the agency are the cleanup of perchlorate perchlorate: see chlorate.  contamination in local groundwater, securing reliable supplies of water and remaining financially sound, Pecsi said. The agency imports, manages and distributes state water to purveyors in the region.

Kelly has been a board member for four years. He owns an accounting company in Canyon Country and is active in community groups including the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce.
