PEAVEY AUCTIONS GUITARS TO AID COLUMBINE VICTIMS.

SOUTHERN ROCK BAND Lynyrd Skynyrd performed in Denver, Colorado, on August 10, to honor those students and teachers slain at Columbine High School. The hour-long concert began at 8 p.m. EDT, and was simulcast to Wal-Mart stores throughout the country. In conjunction with the performance, the band autographed 50 guitars, donated by Peavey Electronics Corporation, to be distributed to the top 50 Wal-Mart stores in the country.

Paul Jernigan, director of entertainment marketing, said, "On behalf of the company, I'd like to express our deepest sympathies to the survivors of those involved in the incident at Columbine. Peavey has always prided itself on its involvement with education and since the proceeds from this worthwhile event will help further students' education, we were more than willing to help out."

All proceeds raised through the guitar raffles and from the concert will benefit the Never Forgotten Fund, a fund established to provide yearly scholarships for Colorado students and teachers in memory of those involved in the tragedy at Columbine High School.
