The Naval Air Systems Command The Naval Air Systems Command, or NAVAIR, is the part of the United States Navy which provides materiel support for naval aircraft and airborne weapon systems, such as guided missiles. NAVAIR was established in 1966 as the successor to the Navy's Bureau of Naval Weapons (BuWeps).  (NAVAIR), Lakehurst, N.J., selected the V-2 Division on board Harry S. Harry S. Truman (May 8 1884 – December 26 1972) was the thirty-third President of the United States (1945–1953); as vice president, he succeeded to the office upon the death of Franklin D.
 (CVN 75) to employ a new system to perform arresting sear maintenance checks using personal data assistants (PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) A handheld computer for managing contacts, appointments and tasks. It typically includes a name and address database, calendar, to-do list and note taker, which are the functions in a personal information manager (see PIM). ). Rather than viewing and submitting maintenance-related forms on paper, a mechanic can view all maintenance check information on the PDA, log data during the check and email the completed checklist to the NAVAIR fleet liaison office on board the carrier.
