PCS Edventures! Announces UK Pilot Program Now Underway.

PCS Edventures! (OTCBB:PCSV) today announced the official launch of the UK pilot program that will include a formal research trial led by the Sector Skills Council for Science, Engineering, and Manufacturing Technologies. The pilot program is a partnership between the Cardinal Newman School, a comprehensive school in Luton, SEMTA, and PCS Edventures! in which staff and students will utilize the curriculum and materials in the PCS Academy of Engineering program. The official launch of this pilot included staff training by PCS personnel at the Cardinal Newman School, an exciting media event at Silverstone Circuit that preceded the British Grand Prix, and formal meetings at SEMTA offices in London.

Staff training was a resounding success as participating staff members reviewed and experimented with the wide variety of curriculum, manipulatives, and software resources that are available with the PCS program. "The PCS materials are fantastic and can be applied throughout the school curriculum," said Gerry Heather, project director for the pilot program at the Cardinal Newman School. Projects that ranged from communications to hands-on physics were discussed and mapped to possible classes and programs throughout the school. Previous research results and issues pertaining to the upcoming study were also discussed.

Members of the Young Engineers Club at the Cardinal Newman School demonstrated their growing engineering skills using Academy of Engineering materials at Silverstone Circuit on July 15 as they launched rocket-powered vehicles constructed from PCS Lab inventory elements. The media was astounded as they captured stunning video footage of these vehicles accelerating to 100 mph in seconds. David Nicoll, Head of Marketing & Communications for SEMTA, said, "This is a remarkable way to engage our young people in engineering and science- oriented disciplines. The kids are excited beyond belief about the PCS program and are thrilled to have PCS come to Britain!"

SEMTA Chief Executive Michael Sanderson said, "I was very impressed by the PCS Edventures! Labs and people when I visited them in Boise, Idaho in late 2002. I'm convinced their program will help us in our mission to encourage more young people into a technical career." The SEMTA research study will focus on the effects this program has on student achievement and attitude, as well as staff responses to the program. The ultimate goal is to implement programming that will help motivate and guide students into appropriate, engineering related fields in the UK. Additional PCS Academy of Engineering sites will also be selected to participate by SEMTA in the research study that will commence in September.
