The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS
 recently launched a new comprehensive Web site for preK-12 educators called TeacherSource. The site (www.pbs.org/teachersource) provides educators with 1,000 free lesson plans, teacher guides and online activities, most designed to complement PBS television programs.

The site groups its resources into six subject areas--arts and literature, mathematics, science, social studies, health and vocation and TechKnow for teachers. It also offers a searchable database Refers to databases on the Web that are searchable by typing in a query. The term is quite redundant because all databases are searchable. In fact, that is one of their major features.  by subject, grade level arid ar·id
