The company has been involved in planning and designing some of the world's largest public works projects, such as Boston's Big Dig, Britain's rail system Network Rail; for construction engineering and inspection services for the reconstruction of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway The Brooklyn Queens Expressway (BQE) is an expressway which runs from southern Brooklyn, New York to the Grand Central Parkway in Queens, New York. It is a portion of Interstate 278. The highway is mainly elevated in Brooklyn, with some open-cut sections. from 61st Street to Broadway in Woodside, New York. The $123.5 million project is the second phase of a program to comprehensively revitalize, rehabilitate and enhance one of the busiest highway links in metropolitan New York. PB also provided CE&I services for the first phase of the program, a $255 million project to reconstruct the highway between Broadway and 25th Avenue in Woodside which will be completed in June 2005.
