PAYLINE ANNOUNCES SAVINGS OF UP TO 53 PERCENT ON LONG-DISTANCE CALLS
PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Payline Systems Inc. (OTC Pink Sheets), a Portland-based provider of telecommunications operator services, announced a new service which began test marketing in Portland and the Willamette Valley beginning Sept. 23, 1992. The service, called Money Talk(SM), will save 10 to 53 percent off calling card and collect calls.
To access the service, a caller dials 10767 + 0 + area code + the number to be called. An example of the Money Talk savings, based on FCC benchmark rate data for a daytime eight-minute collect call in the 1,910 mileage band, is as follows:
 MONEY TALK AT&T OTHER PROVIDERS
 Rate $3.06 $3.40 $6.58
 Savings $0.44 $3.52
 Percent saved 10 53
A test-market campaign targeted to college students and Oregon convention attendees will run through Dec. 31, 1992. However, the Money Talk service can be used by any long-distance caller in Portland and the Willamette Valley within those dates.
According to Roger Pease, president of Payline, "Money Talk is a new service that enables the caller to easily access our operator service from any phone and save money. AT&T asks callers to dial five digits and pay standard rates. With Money Talk, Payline is pioneering a better deal -- and is just as easy to use."
An eight-year-old company, Payline is one of the oldest in the telecommunications operator services industry. The company's common stock, PAYL, is traded over the counter on the "pink sheets" published by the National Quotation Bureau. Payline currently employs 65.
