PATTI AUSTIN SIGNED HER FIRST recording contract with RCA Records RCA Records is one of the flagship labels of Sony BMG Music Entertainment. RCA Records was founded in 1901 as the Victor Talking Machine Company, and the RCA initials stand for Radio Corporation of America, which was the parent corporation in the pre-BMG days. at age 5 in 1954. Since then, the nine-time Grammy nominee has seen all there is to see in the music business. Best known through her string of pop and R&B hits on Quincy Jones's Qwest Records Qwest Records is the record label started by Quincy Jones in 1980. Through 1980-1985, it was distributed by A&M Records. George Benson's Give Me The Night LP in 1980 marked the first release on Qwest; although this release was shared with Warner Bros. from the late 1970s through the 1980s, she was at the same time a well-respected jazz singer and highly regarded for her live performances in general, avant gershwin continues in that tradition, with Austin's always-unique approach making this set of standards as fresh as ever.
