Passover, in Hebrew called Pesach, begins on the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Nisan and lasts for seven days, commemorating the Exodus from Egypt and the Jewish people's liberation from slavery.

``It's a very important, very warm family holiday,'' said Anne Aldrich, former president of Temple Beth Knesset Bamidbar in Lancaster. ``The family gathers around the table for Seder and tells the story of the Exodus. It's spending time "Spending Time" is the first single released by Christian artist Stellar Kart.

The lyrics describe the band members desire to spend "more time with God". "Sometimes it’s a real struggle to spend time with God.

In observance of this celebration, Beth Knesset Bamidbar has scheduled a list of events for its congregation.

Services for the first day of Passover will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday.

The annual community Seder will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday. The Seder, the ritual dinner, centers around the sharing of the Passover story. Each item of food has a symbolic reason for its placement on the table during the meal.

For members, the cost is $18 for adults and $10 for children ages five through 13. Prices for nonmembers are $28 for adults and $14 for children.

Yizkor - memorial services - will be held at 10 a.m. April 7.

``Yizkor is a time when we remember the loved ones loved ones nplseres mpl queridos
