Some 400 people were expected at the Friar's Club in Beverly Hills, which featured a fund-raising celebration that included actors Ed Begley Jr., Dan Haggerty, Ernest Borgnine and Red Buttons.

The Veterans For America The organisation Veterans for America was created in 2006 in the joining of the the two organisations Veterans for Common Sense, founded in 2002, and Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation, founded in 1980.  Inc. held a celebration with The Celtic Arts Center in Studio City with hopes of raising about $30,000, said Rosanna DiMario, an event committee member.

Begley was to receive the Sean Fallon Walsh Award and Haggerty was to receive the Sword of Light Award.

The awards are for those who bring distinction and honor to their Celtic heritage through their outstanding humanitarian qualities and artistic achievements.

The event also featured entertainment such as the 42nd Highlanders Regimental Pipes and Drums and the Finn MacCool band.

Even the Studio City Hand Car Wash got in on the St. Paddy's Day celebration, offering customers corned beef, Irish cookies and Irish baritone singers.

Anyone wearing green received a free car wash.
