PARTY LINES; A NIGHT AT THE OPERA A CHANCE TO SHOW OFF NEW DUDS, ATTITUDES.It's not the Academy Awards, but for some Angelenos the new opera season marks Day 1 of the fall social calendar. Traditionally, it's the place for certain opera buffs to parade new jewelry, new clothes and (ahem) new paramours while also striking a blow for good taste. So naturally, the rich and famous (or would-be) were out in force at Wednesday night's L.A. Opera premiere of ``Fedora A free distribution of the Linux kernel from Red Hat along with a variety of open source utilities.
