Monje approached the cab and tried to climb into the vehicle through the open driver's window, the report said. He was restrained and taken into custody without further incident.

During a search of the father's home, deputies found several items they believed to be stolen, according to the report. Monje was additionally charged with receiving stolen property. His prior conviction was for burglary burglary, at common law, the breaking and entering of a dwelling house of another at night with the intent to commit a felony, whether the intent is carried out or not. .
