PARKER HIRED AT LITTLEROCK.

LANCASTER - One year away from Golden League football apparently was enough for Lin Parker. The longtime Highland of Palmdale coach will return to the Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. The Antelope Valley
 league this fall as the new coach at rival Littlerock High.

Parker's hiring - as well as those of four other coaches at Littlerock - was approved Wednesday night by the Antelope Valley Union High School District The Antelope Valley Union High School District (A.V.U.H.S.D.) is located in the Antelope Valley area of California, in northern Los Angeles County.

The district includes eight public high schools, one trade school, and two continuation high schools in the cities of Palmdale
 board. Parker started Highland's program and coached there 13 years before he was fired after the 2001 season.

``I'm quite excited and thrilled to be back in the Golden League,'' Parker said. ``I felt like a baseball player for a while. I was sent down to get some rehab, but now I'm back. It's going to be a challenge but I feel re-energized.

The final hire was Quartz Hill swimming coach Mark Thibault, whose girls are favorites to win next week's Southern Section Div. IV team championship. Thibault was hired for the same job at Littlerock, where he also teaches.

But Thibault said after Wednesday's league championships that he had not yet officially accepted the Lobos job. Thibault has coached at Quartz Hill the past four seasons.
