PARK GETS COOL DRINK OF WATER FROM ROTARIANS.

PALMDALE - City officials and Palmdale Rotary Rotary can refer to:
  • Rotary engine, a type of internal combustion engine from the early 20th century
  • Rotary Woofer, a type of loudspeaker capable of very low frequency sound
  • Rotary International, a service organization
  • Rotary milking shed
 Club members gathered at Marie Kerr Park to recognize the club's donation of two drinking fountains.

Created by artist Ben Joyce, a former club member, the fountains at Marie Kerr Park and Palmdale Oasis Park are marked with the Rotary emblem and the club's ``Four-Way Test'' to guide what Rotarians think, say or do.

``I wanted a design that would represent the great work Palmdale Rotary has done for the community,'' said Joyce, a Gonzaga University graduate who specializes in commissioned paintings, architectural drawings and bronze sculptures bronze sculpture. Bronze is ideal for casting art works; it flows into all crevices of a mold, thus perfectly reproducing every detail of the most delicately modeled sculpture. It is malleable beneath the graver's tool and admirable for repoussé work. .

The fountains were displayed at the international Rotary convention in Chicago before their installation at the two parks.
