Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown. - The $378,000 Heritage Park was dedicated Thursday at Thousand Oaks Boulevard and Moody Court, a former gas station site that now features landscaping and a waterfall. City officials, residents and business owners were on hand to formally open triangular park, where visitors can sit on benches and enjoy the oaks, native shrubs and cascading waterfall. ``It's not your traditional park because it's limited by size,'' Deputy City Manager Scott Mitnick said. ``It's there for aesthetics, as well as for park use. ``This will prime the pump to get businesses around there to do improvements to their facilities,'' he said. The city purchased the land in 1998 for $110,000, using a federal Community Development Block Grant. The park is the first phase of the city's long-term plan to revitalize a four-mile stretch of Thousand Oaks Boulevard from Moorpark Road to Duesenberg Drive.
