PARALLEL TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES GRAPHEX ORDERS

YONKERS, N.Y., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Parallel Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLLK), announced that its GRAPHEX IMAGING SYSTEMS INC. subsidiary received orders for its Flexible Production Environment ("FPE") color electronic prepress systems from Van Dyck Columbia Printing and from Graphic Technology Inc. known by the trade name Graphtec.
Van Dyck Columbia Printing, North Haven, Conn., is a regional printer principally of corporate annual reports and fine art reproductions. Van Dyck Columbia is expanding its operations to capture the free standing inserts and commercial print marketplace. As such they see the need to offer prepress services directly to their customers. Van Dyck Columbia Printing represents the first sale by GRAPHEX through Arkin Medo Inc., the New York-based graphic arts distributor with whom GRAPHEX signed a distribution agreement during this past August.
Robert S. Pollock, president of Parallel, said: "We are very pleased to be adding Van Dyck Columbia Printing to the family of GRAPHEX users. The quality of Van Dyck Columbia's work is well-renowned throughout the region. We look forward to continuing to work with Van Dyck Columbia as they expand into digital prepress.
"Also significant," Pollock added, "is that we have closed our first order through Arkin Medo after just four weeks. Clearly, the relationship has paid immediate dividends and we strongly feel that this relationship will continue to grow."
Graphtec is a well-known and rapidly growing color separator and commercial printer with plants in the Baltimore/Washington area and Florida. It is known as a technical innovator in its field and is a leader in the current trend toward digital photography. Graphtec has recently completed the acquisition of Wolk Press, a high-quality regional printer, expanding the services it offers to its customers.
Pollock said: "We are very pleased to be working with the staff of Graphtec. Graphtec is known for the quality of their work and their innovative spirit. We look forward to continuing to work with them to provide innovative products as Graphtec expands into new markets by providing its customers with unique printing solutions."
