PARADE ON THURSDAY WILL HONOR COWBOYS.

CANYON COUNTRY -- A parade is planned Thursday afternoon to honor the state champion Canyon High School Canyon High School can refer to:
  • Canyon High School (Anaheim) in Anaheim, California
  • Canyon High School (Santa Clarita), in Santa Clarita, California
  • Canyon High School (Canyon, Texas), in Canyon, Texas
 Cowboys football team, which claimed the title over the weekend at the first California championship game since 1927.

The parade will start at 3 p.m. -- also marking the end of final exams -- on campus, 19300 Nadal St. It will follow Whites Canyon Road to Sierra Vista Junior High School, 19425 Stillmore St., for a pep rally.

The city of Santa Clarita is planning the parade. The team, coaches, cheerleaders Notable cheerleaders
  • Paula Abdul, Los Angeles Lakers, Van Nuys High School
  • Christina Aguilera, North Allegheny Intermediate High School[]
  • Kirstie Alley
  • Ann-Margret
  • Toni Basil

 and City Council members will take part. The junior high band will play.

Canyon stomped De La Salle De La Salle is the name of several educational institutions affiliated with the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, also known as the Lasallian Brothers, a Roman Catholic religious teaching order founded by French priest Saint Jean-Baptiste de la Salle:
 of Concord in Northern California on Saturday, 27-13. De La Salle, previously undefeated this year and suffering just five losses since 1991, had been ranked first in the nation by USA Today.

Canyon earned the spot in the Division I CIF (1) (Common Intermediate Format) A standard video format used in videoconferencing. CIF formats are defined by their resolution, and standards both above and below the original resolution have been established. The original CIF is also known as Full CIF (FCIF).  State Championship game by winning the Southern Section CIF title.
