PANHANDLE EASTERN PIPE LINE COMPANY SUBMITS ORDER 636 COMPLIANCE FILING
HOUSTON, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company (PELP) (NYSE: PEL) submitted its Order 636 restructuring proposal to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) today.
The filing outlines the new services, operational issues and rates PEPL will provide its customers under Order 636. Implementation of these new services is proposed April 1.
"The wide array of transportation, storage, gathering and balancing services set out in this filing reflects a mix of services that will enable all shippers to utilize the pipeline system on an equal access basis," said Paul Anderson, president. "Additionally, the customers will be able to effectively duplicate the type of city gate no-notice service provided in the past through a mixture of transportation and storage services."
Under the restructuring, PEPL is offering various transportation services, storage services and a transportation balancing service, which will provide daily and monthly imbalance protection for transportation agreements. The restructuring will give the customer a greater degree of flexibility to choose the combination of services desired. PEPL will offer all customers the option of allowing the company to directly manage these services through its General Delivery Service rate schedule.
PEPL worked closely with its customers to develop services which best balance the needs of the marketplace. There has been no request for merchant sales service, and PEPL is not proposing to offer a merchant function at this time.
Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company is a subsidiary of Panhandle Eastern Corporation, which operates one of the nation's largest interstate natural gas pipeline systems, providing natural gas to the Midwest and Northeast markets.
