Staff Writer VALENCIA -- After three years of doling out scholarship money for deserving Latino youths, the Hispanic Business Hispanic Business, Inc. is a media company based in Santa Barbara, California, in the United States of America. Founded by Jesús Chavarría in 1979, Hispanic Business, Inc. publishes information for and about Hispanic professionals and entrepreneurs. Committee of Santa Clarita's Chamber of Commerce wants to celebrate the community's support of its efforts and those who have helped carry its message. The committee will host a reception Thursday afternoon for its chairwoman, Dora Zavala, to announce the fruits of fundraising efforts, which surpassed the goal. "We want everyone to enjoy the success we've had in these short years," Zavala said Monday. She said the growth in scholarship funds is a testament to Santa Clarita's focus on education, and she is glad to help bring Latino youths and their supporters together in the valley. "There is still a need to connect Hispanic youth with the tolls and the systems and programs in place that can let them advance in their education beyond high school."
