PALMDALE WARNS OF BUSINESS SCAM.

PALMDALE -- Palmdale officials issued a warning Wednesday about someone who is calling local businesses fraudulently claiming to be with the city and asking for personal information such as Social Security numbers and bank account information.

``No one from the city is calling business and requesting this kind of information,'' Assistant City Manager Laurie Lile said. ``If you receive such a call, do not provide any personal information such as your Social Security number, federal tax ID number or your business license.''

Anyone who receives a suspicious call regarding a business license is asked to contact Lisa Scaktes, a senior public safety officer, at (661) 267-5153.
