The man assaulted her over a 45-minute period, deputies said. After he left the girl, she made her way home and notified the Sheriff's Department.

Stine was arrested Dec. 31 after a sheriff's patrol deputy spotted him walking in the 1800 block of East Palmdale Boulevard - across the street from the market - and noticed that he fit the description of the suspect.

The deputy who made the arrest recalled seeing a composite sketch of the suspect, based on the victim's description, and reading newspaper articles about the rape.
