Briggs scored the game's first run after getting hit by a pitch, stealing second and scoring on Boron's Toby Foster's single. An inning later Briggs doubled home Palmdale teammate Zeb McDaniel to give the West a 4-0 lead.

Briggs was not scheduled to pitch but Kern Valley's Josh Thompson allowed four walks and three hits in the ninth. Two errors did not help.

``I really hadn't pitched that much all season,'' said Briggs, who was 3-1 for Palmdale.

Mark Madsen Mark Ellsworth Madsen (born January 28 1976 in Walnut Creek, California) is an American professional basketball player for the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves.

The game featured 24 runs, 26 hits, 18 walks, seven hit batters and 11 pitchers.

Winner Brenden Hall (Kern Valley) was named the pitching MVP. Rosamond's Marco Gomez took the loss.

Antelope Valley's Eric Mobley Eric Mobley (born February 1 1970 in the Bronx, New York) is an American former professional basketball player who was selected by the National Basketball Association's Milwaukee Bucks in the 1st round (18th overall) of the 1994 NBA Draft.  paced the East with two hits, including a double, two runs, and a stolen base. The East scored just once through the first five innings.

``It's just an honor to be out here,'' Mobley said. ``It's great to play in a place like the Hangar and be able to compete with all the best players.''

Boron's Robert Kostopoulos, Madsen, Palmdale's J.J. Rosati, Thompson, and Briggs pitched for the West.
