``They are the only two members up here. People were crossing out their graffiti.''

Both men, who are not related, entered their pleas Thursday in Lancaster Superior Court. They also admitted committing the offense for the benefit of and/or at the direction of a street gang, prosecutors said.

The shooting occurred about 12:30 a.m. Feb. 16 at Palmdale Boulevard and Sierra Highway Sierra Highway is a road in Southern California, United States. It runs from Tunnel Station near the north limit of the City of Los Angeles, where it intersects with San Fernando Road and Foothill Boulevard, as well as Interstate 5, and continues north to Mojave, mostly paralleling , several hours after Noe Perez was assaulted by rival gang members at a liquor store at 30th Street East and Palmdale Boulevard, Ross said.

Noe Perez met up with Cuautemoc Perez and a younger teen-ager, and they drove around Palmdale until they spotted members of the rival gang in a car at Palmdale Boulevard and Sierra Highway.

The defendants got out of their van while at the red light, shouted insults, and then Noe pulled out a gun and fired two shots into the other car, hitting one of its five occupants in the shoulder.

The passengers in the other car were gang members also, but it was never established whether they were the ones who assaulted Noe Perez, Ross said.

After the shots were fired, the Perezes' teen-age driver panicked and drove off, leaving the pair to chase after the van. A sheriff's deputy who heard the shots saw the two men running and jumping into the van and detained de·tain
