PACOIMA PROJECT GETS CASH GRANT REDEVELOPMENT SHOULD BEGIN IN '03.

WASHINGTON - Plans to redevelop a blighted industrial site in Pacoima received a major boost Friday when the Department of Housing and Urban Development announced a $1.4 million grant and $7.4 million in low-interest loans for the Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  Community Redevelopment Agency's Pacoima Center project.

The money, allocated under HUD's Brownfields Economic Development Initiative, will be used by the CRA See Community Reinvestment Act.  to clean up and redevelop a 24-acre site at Paxton Street and Sutter Avenue that formerly housed the Price Pfister Price Pfister is an American manufacturer of faucets and other plumbing products since 1915. CRA's plans for Pacoima Center include a Lowe's home improvement store, a supermarket, other retail spaces and a refurbished industrial park.
