PACIFIC LEAGUE: WIGGAN RUNS WILD, BURROUGHS TOPS ARCADIA.Byline: Daily News Joe Wiggan ran for 238 yards and three touchdowns Friday night as Burroughs High of Burbank, ranked No. 1 in the Southern Section's Central Division, pulled out a 28-13 Pacific League victory over visiting Arcadia. Wiggan gained 147 yards on 25 carries in the second half for the Indians (7-1, 5-0), which can clinch a share of the Pacific title with a victory next week over archrival Burbank. Arcadia (4-4, 3-2) marched 71 yards to pull within 21-13 late in the third quarter, but Wiggan led the Indians, the Daily News' No. 11 team, to a score with three minutes to play. Burroughs gained 63 yards on eight Wiggan runs, the finale a 25-yarder for the touchdown. -- Shawn Clingan Muir 21, Crescenta Valley 18: Daniel De La Torre kicked a 31-yard field goal with 1:42 left to lift the Mustangs (6-2, 4-1) past visiting Crescenta Valley of La Crescenta (1-7, 1-4) in a Pacific League game. The Falcons rallied from an 18-0 halftime deficit, tying the score on two blocked punts recovered in the end zone. Cameron Kerley blocked the first, and it was recovered by Jacob Paz with 10:02 to play, and Parker Haleen recovered a punt blocked by Jake Madrigal madrigal, name for two different forms of Italian music, one related to the poetic madrigal in the 14th cent., the other the most common form of secular vocal music in the 16th cent. The poetic madrigal is a lyric consisting of one to four strophes of three lines followed by a two-line strophe called a ritornello. The most important 14th-century madrigal composers were Giovanni da Cascia (also known as Giovanni da Florentia) and Jacopo da Bologna (both fl. c. about three minutes later. Crescenta Valley had a chance to tie the score again, but Rana Parsanj's 47-yard field-goal try hit the crossbar as time expired.
