 IN NEWBERG FRED MEYER STORE
 SEATTLE, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Pacific First Bank, A Federal Savings Bank announced today it would open a new retail banking facility at the Newberg Fred Meyer store at 3300 Portland Rd. in Newberg, Ore. The facility will open Monday, Aug. 31.
 Beverly Marlett has been appointed branch manager. Marlett is a resident of Newberg and most recently managed the bank's Tualatin, Ore., branch and has held a number of other positions including operations supervisor at the Downtown Portland branch. She has been with Pacific First since 1983.
 The new bank will employ seven people. Staffing selection is currently underway for loan and client service officers.
 "It will be a full-service facility open from Monday through Saturday," according to Eric Greenwood, senior partner for Consumer Banking at Pacific First Bank. Greenwood indicated the new facility will also include an automatic teller machine for the convenience of bank clients.
 Pacific First Bank currently has 70 branches in Oregon, 36 of which are located in Fred Meyer stores throughout the state. Pacific First is the largest savings institution in Oregon with assets of $6.9 billion and deposits of $4.4 billion. It is one of the strongest financial institutions in the Pacific Northwest, with capital in excess of federal requirements.
