PACIFIC ASIA TECHNOLOGIES CHANGES NAME TO MAPTEK FRESH; FINANCING PLANS AND OFFICERS APPROVED

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Canada, May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Pacific Asia Technologies Inc., has announced that at the annual general meeting on May 20, the shareholders overwhelmingly voted to support the management's financial proposal to create a new class of preferred shares and a consolidation of existing common shares, to facilitate a listing on the National Market System Section of NASDAQ, where it is planned to do a financing as announced in a previous news release.
At a directors' meeting immediately following the annual meeting, Henry Knowles, chairman, Robin Oulton, president and chief executive officer and Roy Robinson, secretary were re-elected to serve as officers for the new year.
The shareholders also approved the changing of the company's name to Maptek Fresh Inc., and that will be implemented as soon as the necessary documents are filed.
As soon as financing is in place, Pacific Asia will be able to expand the technical resources of the company to service the broader commercialization of their shelf life extension technologies, Maptek Fresh and Tam-fresh. These technologies enable produce to be harvested when ripe and transported without significant loss of moisture, texture, aroma or flavor.
