PA approves $2b tunnel funding.

The tunnel, whose cost has been budgeted at $6.1 billion and which is scheduled for completion in 2016, will connect New Jersey Transit The New Jersey Transit Corporation (NJ Transit) is a statewide public transportation system serving the state of New Jersey, and Orange and Rockland counties in New York. The Port Authority has so far approved $1 billion for the project, but Coscia said that he expects the Port Authority to make another $1 billion commitment before the project starts construction in 2009.
