Owens Corning Celebrates Diversity and Cultural Awareness; Organizations Lead a Month-Long Tribute to Black History.TOLEDO, Ohio

"We're helping to build increased awareness of the important role that African American's have played in our nation's history, and that's an effort that our employees, their families, and our communities can truly take pride in." February's tribute to black history, which began with a kick-off event on the 10th entitled "A Celebration of Living Our Purpose," is the result of OC's desire to educate employees and recognize individual differences everywhere. Fellow AARG members, Lucious Glenn, Irving Roofing Plant Leader and Tasha Matthews, Irving Asphalt Plant Leader, marked the observance by sharing how the company's commitment to workplace diversity has enhanced their lives at Owens Corning. In honor of Black History Month, OC Owens Corning has planned a number of opportunities for employees to get involved. A recent presentation held on February 18th entitled "A Celebration of Leadership," was led by Joseph High. As a contributor to OC's diversity, his presentation served as a reminder of the extraordinary accomplishments of African-American leader Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., in the areas of respectful treatment and service to all people.
