Owens Corning Owens Corning Corporation is the world's largest manufacturer of fiberglass and related products. It was formed in 1935 as a partnership between two major American glassworks, Corning Glass Works and Owens-Illinois. The company was spun off as a separate entity November 1, 1938.  in Toledo, Ohio

, and Saint-Gobain of France announced they would locate a joint glass-fiber manufacturing venture in Xicohtencatl, Tlaxcala, Mexico, adjacent to a Saint-Gobain Vetrotex America facility. This venture will produce rovings for composites. The output will be divided equally between Saint-Gobain Vetrotex America, Valley Forge Valley Forge, on the Schuylkill River, SE Pa., NW of Philadelphia. There, during the American Revolution, the main camp of the Continental Army was established (Dec., 1777–June, 1778) under the command of Gen. George Washington. , Pa., and Owens Corning. Production will start in late 2004.
