Overcoming age bias.

ExecuNet recommends four strategies for overcoming age bias.

* Anticipate assumptions an interviewer might make based on your age. Draft messages that counter these beliefs, and relate them to your recent work experiences to highlight your qualifications.

* Be conscious of your energy level at all times. The way you sit, walk, and talk, as well as your ideas and how you present them, can all be used to demonstrate enthusiasm.

* Focus on how your experience will help you to address specific challenges facing the organization.

* Illustrate your awareness, understanding, and comfort with technology relevant to the position.
