Downtown San Diego has long been famous for its beautiful harbor. The dramatic San Diego Convention Center, a waterfront landmark, is flanked by high-rise luxury hotels, theaters, shopping, and award-winning restaurants, many located in the historic Gaslamp Quarter with its popular jazz clubs and other nighttime entertainment.

Convention Facilities--Convenient, Comfortable, and Quite Extraordinary

With a variety of meeting facilities and accommodations, culturally and scenically diverse regions, 99 conference and convention hotels, and 45,000 hotel rooms, San Diego provides you with many ways to make your event memorable.

The San Diego Convention Center is located on sparkling San Diego Bay and within a mile of 7,500 hotel rooms. Following a remarkable expansion set to double its size by September 2001, the center will feature 1.7 million interior square feet: 615,701 square feet of exhibit space, 204,114 square feet of meeting space, and another 284,494 square feet of pre-function space. The building's architectural centerpiece, the 90,000-square-foot Sails Pavilion, has been newly enhanced and remains the largest column-free special events area in North America--perfect for a variety of events ranging from trade shows to galas.

The nearby San Diego Concourse features more than 300,000 square feet of newly renovated meeting and exposition space. San Diego Civic Theater next door also features 2,975 quality seats in a multipurpose environment.

Both a resort and a regional convention center, the Mission Valley Regional Convention Center features more than 165,000 square feet of meeting space, and more than 50 meeting rooms in various sizes. Thousands of grand, arching palms and a rose-studded landscape welcome convention participants to this San Diego landmark--a luxury resort and regional convention center rolled in one.
