in China. U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez witnessed the signing by Mr. Cong Lianyou of Quzhou Airport, Mr. Yan On of Shanghai Baojiang Automobile, and Mr. Michael Crowe, Oshkosh's president of Asia Operations today, December 13, in Beijing. The contract, including technical services and parts, will provide Quzhou Airport with state-of-the-art fire protection to help protect passenger and aircraft, as traffic increases at this major Chinese airport.

"This is an important business opportunity for Oshkosh as we work to expand our presence, service and sales in the China market for airport and municipal fire apparatus. Oshkosh has been delivering ARFF vehicles to China since 1982 and our expansion in China is a clear sign of our long term commitment to China's further development. We appreciate Quzhou Airport's confidence in Oshkosh, and we are extremely pleased and appreciative that Secretary of Commerce Gutierrez has taken individual interest in Oshkosh's China business development initiative and could be present for this important event," said Crowe.

"Secretary Gutierrez has provided exceptional leadership in assisting U.S. companies in their business development activities in China, and the staff at the U.S. Department of Commerce and Commercial Service in China and the U.S. have been remarkably helpful."

Oshkosh Truck recently participated in the Business Development Mission that Secretary Gutierrez and Department of Commerce Under Secretary Franklin Lavin led to Beijing and Shanghai in early November. Oshkosh was one of just 25 U.S. companies selected to participate in the mission.
