Mass transit refers to municipal or regional public shared transportation, such as buses, streetcars, and ferries, open to all on a
 systems. Images from the cameras are fed into a central processing center and used to identify criminals, protesters, and "hooligans." The system's Orwellian overtones prompted critical comment from London residents, and some privacy advocates initially thought that the official posters were a cunning protest staged by its critics.
