Orvana Appoints Senior Executives as part of Growth Strategy.

TORONTO -- The Board of Directors of Orvana Minerals Corp. (TSX:ORV)("Orvana" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has appointed Michael Hodgson as Vice President, Technical Services, Eduardo Rosselot as Vice President, Business Development and Special Projects and Malcolm King as Vice President and Controller, effective immediately.

Mr. Hodgson has over two decades of international mining experience. A geologist by training, Mike has broad exposure to many facets of the operations side of the mining business. He most recently worked as a consultant to companies in the mining industry and prior to that spent over five years with TVX Gold Inc., most recently as Manager, Technical Services and Operations of TVX's base metal operation in Greece. Prior to that he worked nearly 15 years for companies such as ACA Howe International Ltd, South Crofty plc, Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Ltd. and RTZ plc. Mike is a "Qualified Person" in accordance with National Instrument 43 -101, Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects. He is also a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng) and a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (FIMMM) out of the UK.

Mr. Rosselot has nearly two decades of international mining experience. A mining engineer by background, Eduardo worked in 2004 as Senior Mining Engineer for European Goldfields Ltd and prior to that spent nearly eight years with TVX Gold Inc., most recently as Technical Services Superintendent of TVX's base metal operation in Greece. Eduardo was a partner in NCL , one of Chile's largest mining engineering consulting companies, for nearly 10 years during which time he worked in South and Central America, Europe and Russia. He is a member of the Colegio de Ingenieros de Chile.

Mr. King has over thirty years of financial experience gained through his work with major accounting firms and public and private corporations based in Canada and abroad. In addition to being a Chartered Accountant, he also earned a M.B.A and a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a past member of the Institute for Certified Management Consultants. His broad industry experience includes many years in the communication and software fields as well as a four your period when he worked as Controller of Kidd Creek Mines Ltd.
