OrthoLogic Awarded Grant to Research Use of Ultrasound on Fracture Healing; National Institutes of Health Awards OrthoLogic a $100,000 Grant.

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 5, 1995--OrthoLogic (Nasdaq/NMS: OLGC) today announced that it has been awarded another grant by the National Institutes of Health for $100,000 to research the use of non-thermal ultrasound technology to enhance the healing of complicated fractures. The long-term goal of this research is to develop a noninvasive treatment that will significantly reduce the necessity of secondary treatment intervention in the management of complicated fractures. According to Dr. Frank Magee, OrthoLogic's Executive Vice President of Research and Development, research on this project is anticipated to begin this month.

The principal investigator of the grant is Dr. James Ryaby, OrthoLogic's Director of Research. This research is being conducted in collaboration with Dr. Thomas Einhorn, Professor and Director of Orthopaedic Research at Mount Sinai School of Medicine (N.Y.) and Dr. Jonathan J. Kaufman of CyberLogic, Inc.
