Ortel Unveils High Power Source Laser for High Performance Analog and Digital Applications; New Source Laser Gives Testimony to Ortel's Industry-Leading Manufacturing Process of DFB Lasers.


ALHAMBRA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 1996--Reaffirming its commitment to providing the most advanced communications solutions to OEMs and systems integrators, Ortel Corp. (Nasdaq:ORTL ORTL Oregon Right to Life, Inc. (Salem, Oregon) ) today announced the release of a high performance source laser in the company's recently announced line of high performance 1550 nm transmission products.

Ortel's new 1710A high power source laser is available in a 14 pin butterfly package with a thermoelectrical cooler and monitor photodiode. The laser is designed, in conjunction with external modulators, for high performance analog and digital applications.

-- Narrow Linewidth: 1~5 MHZ;

-- Coupled to polarization Preserving Fiber.
