Orrick Opens Rome Office.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 9, 2004

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol  announced today that it will open an office in Rome, building upon and strengthening the offerings of the Milan office which opened in May 2003. ), led by Patrizio Messina and his two partners Claudio Guccione and Domenico Galli. Orrick's Rome office will focus on two primary practice areas: banking and finance (with particular emphasis on structured finance and securitisation), and administrative law administrative law, law governing the powers and processes of administrative agencies. The term is sometimes used also of law (i.e., rules, regulations) developed by agencies in the course of their operation.  (focusing on public procurement and project finance). Since its formation three years ago as SLET, the Rome office has developed a robust client base, with an emphasis on major financial institutions and key Italian infrastructure and transportation companies.

The addition of the Rome team brings the number of lawyers in the firm's European offices to over 100. It is a significant step in the firm's expansion which has seen the recent openings of offices in Paris (2002) and Milan (2003) in addition to the well-established London office (1998).
