Orion Receives Approval to Launch A-Net Debit and Credit Cards.

: ORTG) announced today that the press release of January 20, 1998 did not correctly reflect the scope of the launch of its A-Net Card Program.

As such, the company is re-releasing its news release describing its achievement of a major benchmark in its private label A-Net Card Program.

Keith Cowan, president of Orion announced that the company has taken another big step forward in its plan to launch a new worldwide card, called the A-Net Card. This card will be the official ATM/Debit Card for The Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP ADFIAP Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (banking institutions) ) which has 79 bank members in 33 Asian Pacific countries. Orion has been appointed by ADFIAP to develop, operate and process the A-Net Card program.

Orlando Pena, secretary general of ADFIAP said, "This is a welcome development which is a step forward to eventually having a global card facility for the use of ADFIAP member banks and their clients in 33 countries of the region."

"Negotiations are under way with the card giants VISA International and MasterCard International to see if we can work together towards bringing these much needed services to our community of bank members in ADFIAP."

"Our next step will include the launching of a co-branded credit card with both VISA and MasterCard. Which one of these cards will be selected for first launch is strictly up to our bank customers," Cowan added. "We are ready and able to process both card types in our advanced Data Processing data processing or information processing, operations (e.g., handling, merging, sorting, and computing) performed upon data in accordance with strictly defined procedures, such as recording and summarizing the financial transactions of a  System. In fact, we are working well with both of the card giants in the region."
