Oreo Mudslide Pie Voted 'Ultimate' Oreo Recipe Michael Martins Creates Signature Oreo 85th Birthday Dessert
Martins culinary creation will now become Nabisco Food Services' signature dessert for next year's celebration of Oreo Cookie's 85th birthday and his recipe will also appear on future retail packages of Oreo cookies.
A chef at The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Va., Martins was one of five national category winners vying for the title in Nabisco's first annual Oreo recipe contest.
Open only to food service professionals, the competition generated 360 entrants from such diverse establishments as the U.S. Army, the Four Seasons Hotel, McDonald's, the Boca Raton Resort & Country Club and a Kappa Delta Sorority House. Each recipe was entered into one of five categories: Lodging, Quick Service Restaurants, White Table Cloth, Non Commercial/Cafeteria and Midscale/Family Restaurants.

The judging panel consisted of food industry experts, as well as a group children -- the real Oreo experts -- who voted for their favorite recipe based on taste, taste, taste!
"We created this food service competition because Americans are always looking for new and fun ways to eat their favorite cookie, Oreo. And since over 50 percent of all food dollars are spent eating out, what better way to deliver great Oreo taste," says Oreo Senior Business Manager Regina Silitch. "We never expected such deliciously unique recipes, like UFO-reo, Oreo Bagels, Oreo Lasagna and Oreo Cookie Wontons. It was really difficult choosing the five category winners. It will be even harder for the judges to pick the 'ultimate' recipe!"

OREO Mudslide Pie Yield: 12 servings Ingredients Weight Measure OREO(R) Pie Crust 24 oz. 4 each Melted butter 3 oz. -- Kahlua(R) Licor De Cafe 3 oz. -- Heavy cream 4 oz. -- Butter 4 oz. -- OREO Crunchies 16 oz. -- Milk chocolate, melted 16 oz. -- Whipped topping, divided 32 oz. --
Baileys(R) Original Irish
Cream(R) -- 4 Tbsp. Hershey's(R) chocolate syrup 2 Tbsp. -- Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookies -- as needed
1. To prepare the crust, pack a 1/2-inch layer of the crumbled pie
crust crumbs into the bottom only of a greased 10" x 2" round cake pan.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 5 minutes, set aside until

saucepan; bring to a boil, remove from the heat and add the Oreo
Crunchies, milk chocolate and 16 oz. of whipped topping. Pour the

spread the icing over the entire pie reserving enough to dot around the
