Oregon women climb to eighth in golf tournament.

McCready shot an even-par 72 in the final round at Sahalee Country Club The Sahalee Country Club is a country club and golf course located in Sammamish, Washington, just outside of Seattle, USA. Sahalee is member-owned. In the Chinookan language Sahalee means "high heavenly ground".  and finished tied for 12th at 10-over 226. Bristow closed with a 76 and finished tied for 17th at 228.

Oregon's 20-over 308 in the final round left the Ducks at 929, 33 strokes behind team champion Stanford.

Oregon State, led by Jillian Ferrante's tie for 28th place (76-233), finished last in the 15-team field at 966 after a final-round 314.

Mari Chun earned medalist honors for Stanford, which finished six strokes ahead of runner-up New Mexico New Mexico, state in the SW United States. At its northwestern corner are the so-called Four Corners, where Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah meet at right angles; New Mexico is also bordered by Oklahoma (NE), Texas (E, S), and Mexico (S). . Chun was the only player to break par for the tournament, finishing at 1-under 215 despite a final-round 75.

New Mexico's Jodi Ewart finished second at 217 after a closing 71.

Ducks' Garbin honored

Oregon senior forward Nicole Garbin was named to Soccer Buzz magazine's 2006 Elite Team of the Week.

Garbin scored all three of the Ducks' goals as they opened Pac-10 Conference play with road victories over Arizona and Arizona State. In the process, Garbin surpassed Chalise Baysa as the school's all-time leading point scorer.

The Ducks' next conference action will be Friday when they host Washington at 7 p.m. at Pape Field.
